I have been trying to trace a ancestor of mine called Mathew Higgin and have come across a John Mathew Higgin born in Burnley in 1785 son of a John Higgin. I think his brother was Lawrence Higgin also son of a John Higgin (and Susannah) born Burnley. (see details below) Lawrence married a Elizaberh Halstead 4th January 1816 and they had a daughter Mary christened Oct 1819.
